Birds in Rwanda by Jean P. Vande weghe and Gael R. Vande weghe is valuable resource for Rwanda-focused birding. We are told that there are 701 species identified here, although some of them were last sighted decades ago. Bugesera is arguably the best district for bird watching thanks to the huge swamplands around the Akagera River.
On this page, We are only showing those species that we have ourselves positively identified here on Lakeside Fish Farm. We are big on classification, so we use a numbering system derived from Birds in Rwanda - first digit-pair represent the scientific family name, second digit-pair represent the sequence as displayed in the book.
