Two guys on a fish feeding mission
Lakeside has a 4.5ha cage farming concession in Lake Mirayi right opposite the beach from the farm.
We have a few small experimental cages out there. Low oxygen events do occur from time to time in this lake and this is a risk factor for tilapia growout (ask us how we know). So we are trying African catfish, which can breathe atmospheric air if they have to.
We take the cargo boat out to the middle of the lake a couple of times every day to feed and check on the fish that we grow there.
After the fingerlings reach 25g, we move them out to the cages where they grow quickly in Lake Mirayi's warm water. Our visitors are invited to join us and help with the feeding.
