On a personal note...
A big part of what we do here is supporting education for the village community. As you might have guessed, there's not much money around here. Most locals are living a subsistence lifestyle. Options for decent childhood education are beyond the reach of most families. We are using our privileged position to help village children have a world class education. We have built Pioneer Learning Centre next door to the fish farm. There are between 200 and 250 students attending. The families make a financial contribution to help us pay the teachers' salaries, but paying sufficient to cover all costs is beyond their means. So while this school is seen as a success story, we are running an unsustainable deficit. If you would like to subsidize a student click here, or help us build infrastructure click here.
